Schumacher joining the regular racers in Spain
|
In overcast conditions today Ferrari embarked on its third day of testing at the Catalunya Circuit with Michael Schumacher getting back behind the wheel of a Formula One car.
The day's programme centred on trying various different types of Bridgestone tyre aimed at 2009, using an F2008 that had been modified to try and reproduce the levels of aerodynamic downforce expected next season.
The former champion put in 83 laps of the 4.655km Grand Prix circuit, recording a best time of 1:19.323s. The time would prove good for second fastest on the day behind Fernando Alonso in the Renault.
Ferrari continues testing at this circuit tomorrow, when championship leader Kimi Raikkonen takes over the F2008.
