Making progress in high downforce configuration
|
The BMW Sauber team today concluded the work on the car's setup with regards to the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix. Robert Kubica evaluated different aero and suspension specifications and tested tyres.
Although the short version (3.593 km) of Circuit Paul Ricard offers a significantly higher grip level than the streets of Monte Carlo, the team achieved good progress with the F1.08 in high downforce configuration.
The car ran without technical problems for the whole session enabling the team to finish the scheduled test program despite a rain caused break right after lunch.
Kubica was third fastest on the day behind Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen.
The team will continue testing in Le Castellet for one more day tomorrow with Nick Heidfeld taking over testing duties.
The test will be on the longer (5.255 km) and faster layout of Circuit Paul Ricard preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix.
