Zoom Aiming for better results with Force India in 2009

Now in his 13th year of competition, Giancarlo Fisichella looks set to remain with the Force India team in 2009.

The Italian veteran has generally held the upper hand over team-mate Adrian Sutil this year and has secured the team’s best results to date. Now it seems that a new contract should be a mere formality.

"I think we are very close to again finalising a contract with Force India for next year," Fisichella explained this afternoon at Monza. "I've had a difficult season because obviously the results are not what we were expecting, what we hoped for but the atmosphere is good, they are pushing really hard and as I told you, we made a step forward. "

"I feel well, I think they are happy with me, so for sure next year we will work together again," he added.

Fisichella has three wins to his credit from 207 starts.
