Zoom BMW Sauber now holding all of the cards

BMW motorsport boss Mario Theissen has denied rumours at Monza that the German team is set to announce its 2009 driver line-up the day after Sunday's Italian Grand Prix.

"There is no announcement on Monday - and not on Tuesday," he is quoted as saying by German broadcaster RTL, amid speculation that former double world champion Fernando Alonso has signed a three-year contract.

The situation at BMW Sauber is rather hazy with Nick Heidfeld seemingly under contract but could well leave at the end of the season despite this. Robert Kubica is out of contract, but almost certainly has re-signed despite comments to the contrary at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Theissen added: "A decision has not yet been made."
