Zoom More skiing that testing with Ferrari

Marc Gene will remain a Ferrari test driver next year after renewing his contract for 2009. Reports in Spain say the 34-year-old from Barcelona has agreed a new one-year deal.

"The team does not usually announce these renewals, but yes, I will be staying for a fifth year with Ferrari," he is quoted as saying from Singapore by the Marca sports newspaper.

Red Bull test and reserve driver Sebastien Buemi meanwhile has played down reports that he will make his debut with Toro Rosso in 2009.

Following his test with the Faenza-based squad at Jerez this month, Team Principal Franz Tost told a Swiss newspaper that the teenager will almost certainly replace Red Bull bound Sebastian Vettel next year.

Buemi said: "Nothing is done, but I have a good chance."
