An interested spectator on the Rallye du Valais was 2007 Formula One World Champion Kimi Raikkonen.

The Finn, who lives close to the Valais route in Switzerland, dropped into the service area to visit his old friend and compatriot Anton Alen.

He even found time to sit in Alen's Abarth Grande Punto S2000 and try it out for size.

Raikkonen, whose brother Rami is a rally driver and accompanied him to the service park, has stated in the past that rallying is one of his big interests and that he could even consider a rally career once his racing activities are over.

"I like it very much," said the Finn. "It's something that I would like to try for myself one day."

Raikkonen then travelled to Interlagos for the season finale and helped the Ferrari team wrap up the constructors' championship.
