Sato chasing a ride with Toro Rosso Ferrari

Former Honda driver Takuma Sato has been busy again this week, testing with the Toro Rosso Ferrari team. The Japanese racer's third test with the Italian-based team saw him in action on Wednesday and Thursday alongside Sebastien Buemi.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience with Toro Rosso and would like to thank the whole team for everything they have done for me," he stated.
"Over the three tests I have done with them, I have been made to feel so welcome and integrated into the team operations."
Sato last raced with the now defunct Super Aguri Honda team in Spain and is hoping that Melbourne next year will see him return to the sport.
"Since my last race back in April I have been so hungry to race again and am so motivated to return," Sato continued.
"Now of course, I just hope that I will be given the chance to race with this great team next year.
"
"I feel that I am satisfied with the whole working process with engineers, mechanics and of course in the cockpit during the test - even after my long absence from F1, so hope it will be enough to convince the management for their decision."
The Japanese veteran made his debut in the series in 2002 with Jordan before moving to BAR Honda on a permanent basis in 2004. He secured his sole podium position to date at the US Grand Prix in the same year.
