Too late now declares Alex Wurz
|
Alex Wurz has revealed that Team Superfund is not bidding to take over the vacant 13th slot on the 2010 grid. The FIA has re-opened the application process for new teams, following the announcement that BMW is to pull out of Formula One at the end of the season.
It was believed that Superfund, originally fronted by Austrians Wurz and Christian Baha, was on the FIA's reserve list of seven teams that were invited in writing by Max Mosley to re-submit their interest.
But Wurz, 35, who has been linked with a race cockpit at the new team US F1, says Superfund is no longer interested.
"On the one hand it is too late, and on the other hand there is no longer the budget limit of 45 million Euros," he told the Austrian national broadcaster
ORF.
