| This morning Kimi Raikkonen set the pace for Ferrari with a best lap of 1:15.948s, two tenths clear of Lewis Hamilton with Heikki Kovalainen close behind. Felipe Massa was fourth in the second Ferrari. |

| Nico Rosberg was a solid fifth fastest for Williams Toyota ahead of Robert Kubica, Fernando Alonso, Rubens Barrichello, Mark Webber and Giancarlo Fisichella. |

| Jarno Trulli was the first victim of the unforgiving Armco barriers this morning as he ran wide exiting Portier and had to pull his Toyota to a halt with left rear damage. It was a similar situation for Nick Heidfeld while David Coulthard was a victim of a mechanical problem and did not set a time. |
